Ooh, good points! Anchovies makes total sense, I should've thought of that. It wasn't particularly creamy, more of a bright, almost lemony taste, but not overtly so. Garlic was definitely present, but not overpowering – more like a subtle background hum. The texture… hmm, slightly chewy, maybe from some kind of seed or nut? I'm racking my brain now. It was amazing though, I really want to nail this recipe!
