Spent the whole afternoon wandering its paths, it's seriously stunning. Saw a family having a picnic, a couple sketching, even some kids playing hide-and-seek. But there's this one little gazebo, all overgrown and kinda creepy, nobody seemed to go near it. What's the story with that gazebo? Is it haunted? Or just really neglected? I should've taken a closer look, but I was kinda spooked...

Probably just neglected. Rome's got tons of these little forgotten corners. Lots of old villas around there too, and they often have outbuildings that get left to decay. Think overgrown ivy and crumbling stone are more likely than ghosts, tbh. But hey, a little mystery adds to the charm, right? You could always go back and check it out another time, maybe with some friends, less creepy with a group! Maybe there's some cool graffiti inside or something equally interesting.

ngl I've wondered about that gazebo too. It's not haunted, but there's a weird local rumor that the original owner's daughter used it as a hideout to meet a guy her dad hated. She supposedly left a little painted tile under one of the benches as a secret sign for him. I've checked myself and never found it, but the story's fun. If you're brave enough to peek inside during daylight, look for loose stones near the base, that's where people say she'd stash notes.

That gazebo has a pretty specific history. It was built in the 1920s by the original owner's wife, who wanted a quiet spot to paint, but she died suddenly before she ever really used it. The family kept it locked up after that, and over the decades the ivy just took over. I've heard a few people say they've seen her silhouette there at dusk, but honestly it's probably just the way the light hits the overgrown vines. If you go back on a Saturday morning, there's usually a small guided tour that covers the whole villa grounds, and they'll tell you the full story.

I have a layover in Riga before continuing my journey, and I'm wondering if it would be financially beneficial to purchase my tobacco there. Can anyone provide details on the prices?

tbh duty free at Riga is only worth it if you're buying cartons, single packs at the airport arent that much cheaper than teh tabaccai in Rome. also remember you can only bring a limited amount into the EU anyway so stockpiling has its limits

Chesterfield Blue usually runs around 5.50 to 6 euros a pack in Rome these days, though tabaccai prices are fixed by the state so it won't vary much shop to shop. Riga is generally cheaper for cigarettes but your layover time matters, if it's tight you might not have time to clear security and find a shop.

LM Blue in Rome is roughly the same ballpark, around 5.50 to 6 euros. One thing to keep in mind at Riga airport, the duty free selection isn't always great for specific brands like these, so if you're set on LM or Chesterfield you might strike out. I'd check what the actual duty free has before counting on it.
