I was wandering around the neighborhood, lost honestly, and stumbled upon this incredibly peaceful little church. The inside was surprisingly ornate, way more beautiful than I expected from the outside. I sat there for ages, just absorbing the quiet. My question is: Are there any regular events or services held there that aren't widely advertised online? I'd love to go back, but finding information was tough. Maybe a local knows a secret...?

Another thing worth knowing about that church is the little outdoor altar they set up in the courtyard for the month of May. It's just a small statue of Mary with some fresh flowers, but a few people from the neighborhood gather there around sunset on weekdays to say the rosary together. No schedule anywhere, just folks showing up when the light gets golden. I only found out about it because i saw an old woman carrying a chair through the side gate one evening and got curious. It's a really gentle, unadvertised rhythm of local life.

yeah that church is a hidden gem for sure. i live a few blocks away and honestly most people just walk right past it. they do a small eucharistic adoration on thursday evenings around 6 that's not really posted anywhere, just word of mouth. also padre marco sometimes says a late mass on saturday at 7pm if you ask him, it's super quiet, like 10 people max. the entrance is around the side on via panfilo, not the main door.

The feast day in early October is the big one, like the other person said, but there's also a smaller celebration for the feast of the Sacred Heart in June. It's a Friday evening mass around 7, followed by a little potluck in the courtyard. The word gets passed around at the Sunday masses, so it's easy to miss if you don't know anyone. The courtyard itself is a nice spot, most people don't realize it's back there.

I have a layover in Riga before continuing my journey, and I'm wondering if it would be financially beneficial to purchase my tobacco there. Can anyone provide details on the prices?

tbh duty free at Riga is only worth it if you're buying cartons, single packs at the airport arent that much cheaper than teh tabaccai in Rome. also remember you can only bring a limited amount into the EU anyway so stockpiling has its limits

Chesterfield Blue usually runs around 5.50 to 6 euros a pack in Rome these days, though tabaccai prices are fixed by the state so it won't vary much shop to shop. Riga is generally cheaper for cigarettes but your layover time matters, if it's tight you might not have time to clear security and find a shop.

LM Blue in Rome is roughly the same ballpark, around 5.50 to 6 euros. One thing to keep in mind at Riga airport, the duty free selection isn't always great for specific brands like these, so if you're set on LM or Chesterfield you might strike out. I'd check what the actual duty free has before counting on it.
