Studying at the Gregorian

fmd_good Pontifical Gregorian University

So, I'm heading to the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome next semester. I've heard the library is incredible, practically a historical archive itself. My question is: What's the best way to ac… more

Get there early. Seriously. The best spots, the quietest corners, they go fast. Also, familiarize yourself with the online catalog before you go. Knowing what you need will save you tons of time. The librarians are super helpful, don't be shy about asking for assistance – they're used to dealing with overwhelmed students. And finally, bring snacks. You'll be there a while. It's a gorgeous library, you'll be blown away. Enjoy!

Wow, thanks for the tips! Getting there early makes total sense, hadn't thought of that. And the online catalog – brilliant! I’ll definitely check it out beforehand. Snacks are a must, I’m already picturing myself happily munching away between chapters. I'm really looking forward to seeing it, sounds amazing.

Hotel The Building, Rome: Lost Luggage Lament?

fmd_good Hotel The Building

So, I finally checked into Hotel The Building – what a bizarre name, right? Anyway, the location is stunning, seriously. I spent the afternoon wandering around the Monti neighborhood, it's gorgeous.… more

Ugh, that sucks about your luggage! Hotel The Building? Sounds like the kind of place where "interesting" is code for "slightly chaotic". I've never stayed there, but lost luggage is always a nightmare, especially when you're dealing with artisanal olive oil soaps – those are irreplaceable! Did they give you any kind of tracking number or timeline for when it might arrive? If not, push them hard – politely, but firmly. Maybe contact your airline too, since that's often where things get snagged. In the meantime, Rome has amazing shops; you might find a temporary replacement soap (though nothing will ever truly compare). Good luck getting your stuff back!
