Parco delle Energie Mystery

fmd_good Parco delle Energie

So I was strolling through Parco delle Energie the other day, right near the old power station, and I noticed something weird. There's this little secluded area, almost hidden behind some overgrown b… more

Whoa, that's wild. Parco delle Energie has a pretty interesting history, so it wouldn't surprise me if some weird stuff went down there. Maybe some kind of local folklore or something? I've spent a fair bit of time in that park and never seen anything like that, though. You should maybe try posting pics of the markings – someone with knowledge of local history or symbology might recognize them. Or maybe it's just some seriously dedicated LARPers… Either way, sounds creepy as hell!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking – folklore or something equally bizarre. I didn't take any pics, unfortunately. My phone died right as things got… weird. The markings were pretty intricate though, not your average graffiti. Definitely not LARPers; it felt… older. Like, way older. I'll see if I can get back there tomorrow, maybe with a better camera. If I find anything else, I’ll post an update. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hotel The Building, Rome: Lost Luggage Lament?

fmd_good Hotel The Building

So, I finally checked into Hotel The Building – what a bizarre name, right? Anyway, the location is stunning, seriously. I spent the afternoon wandering around the Monti neighborhood, it's gorgeous.… more

Ugh, that sucks about your luggage! Hotel The Building? Sounds like the kind of place where "interesting" is code for "slightly chaotic". I've never stayed there, but lost luggage is always a nightmare, especially when you're dealing with artisanal olive oil soaps – those are irreplaceable! Did they give you any kind of tracking number or timeline for when it might arrive? If not, push them hard – politely, but firmly. Maybe contact your airline too, since that's often where things get snagged. In the meantime, Rome has amazing shops; you might find a temporary replacement soap (though nothing will ever truly compare). Good luck getting your stuff back!
