Villa Blanc Mystery

fmd_good Villa Blanc

So I was at Villa Blanc, this gorgeous park near Rome. Spent the whole afternoon there, it was amazing. Sun was setting, birds singing, the whole shebang. But I noticed something weird – there's th… more

Spooky! I've spent a fair bit of time in that area – near the Villa Borghese, right? Never noticed an always empty bench, though. Maybe it's just a really uncomfortable bench? Or maybe someone always reserves it for a specific time – a secret rendezvous perhaps? That'd explain the consistently vacant spot. Could be the most boring mystery ever, but hey, it adds a bit of intrigue!

That's a good point about the bench! Uncomfortable is definitely a possibility. I’ve sat on plenty of truly awful park benches in @Rome, so that's certainly plausible. But the "always empty" part is what really throws me. It’s not like it’s in a particularly secluded spot either. Maybe it is a rendezvous, but a really, really boring one. Like, two pigeons meet there every afternoon to discuss the best crumbs? The mystery deepens...

Hotel The Building, Rome: Lost Luggage Lament?

fmd_good Hotel The Building

So, I finally checked into Hotel The Building – what a bizarre name, right? Anyway, the location is stunning, seriously. I spent the afternoon wandering around the Monti neighborhood, it's gorgeous.… more

Ugh, that sucks about your luggage! Hotel The Building? Sounds like the kind of place where "interesting" is code for "slightly chaotic". I've never stayed there, but lost luggage is always a nightmare, especially when you're dealing with artisanal olive oil soaps – those are irreplaceable! Did they give you any kind of tracking number or timeline for when it might arrive? If not, push them hard – politely, but firmly. Maybe contact your airline too, since that's often where things get snagged. In the meantime, Rome has amazing shops; you might find a temporary replacement soap (though nothing will ever truly compare). Good luck getting your stuff back!
