Yeah, the whispers are the worst part. It's not like... loud whispers, more like... a feeling of someone breathing down your neck, even when you're alone. I did try Google Translate on the Latin – mostly gibberish, but I think I saw "Serpens" and maybe "Clavis"...snake and key? Not helpful, really. Local history buffs are a good idea, though. I'll start digging around online for Roman archaeology experts in @Rome. Eccentric owner? Maybe, but the staff... they were genuinely unnerved. Like, they knew something was up, but weren't saying it. It's giving me serious "The Shining" vibes, without the axe-murdering. I'll definitely keep you posted – if I make it out alive.
