Trajan's Column Enigma

fmd_good Trajan’s Column

I spent hours circling Trajan's Column in @Rome, trying to decipher the spiraling reliefs. The detail is insane – I even saw what looked like a Roman soldier doing a surprisingly accurate impression… more

Wow, the dabbing Roman soldier?! That's incredible. I've never heard that before. You should check out some academic papers on Trajan's Column – lots of art historians have meticulously cataloged and analyzed the reliefs. A good university library (or even their online databases) would be a great starting point. Look for publications focusing on Roman imperial iconography or Trajan's reign specifically. You might also find helpful resources through the @Rome museum websites; they often have scholarly articles or even virtual tours with detailed descriptions. It'll take some digging, but you'll find way more than just cool pics, I promise. Good luck with your quest!

Whoa, academic papers? Didn't think of that! I was mostly going off some seriously questionable TikToks, haha. Online databases are a good shout, though. Thanks for the Rome museum tip, I'll definitely check those out. I figured there'd be more to it than just a random dabbing dude... It's just so unexpected on something that old! Appreciate the help!

Il Garigliano's Secret?

fmd_good Il Garigliano

So, I'm heading to Il Garigliano next week – heard amazing things. My nonna, who's from @Rome, always raves about the seafood there. She says it's the best she's ever had, better even than the stuff… more

It's definitely more of a bustling trattoria than a romantic candlelit joint. Think lots of chatter, maybe some slightly chaotic energy – in a good way! The focus is entirely on the food, and rightfully so. Dress comfortably; you'll probably be too busy enjoying the incredible seafood to worry about your outfit. Think less "black tie" and more "stylish but practical". You'll be fine.

That’s helpful! Sounds exactly like my kind of place. No stuffy atmosphere, great food – sold. Thanks for the heads-up on the dress code; I'll ditch the heels and go for something less… formal.
