San Giovanni Secrets?

fmd_good San Giovanni

So I'm heading to San Giovanni next month, buzzing to finally explore this neighbourhood in Rome. I’ve heard amazing things about the local artisan workshops – anyone know of any particularly good on… more

The area around San Giovanni is great for finding less touristy spots. Wander away from the main drags – you'll stumble on smaller workshops tucked away in quieter streets. Look for places that aren't overtly flashy; sometimes the best artisans are the quietest. For street food, check out the markets – they usually have amazing, cheap eats. Oh god, you're not kidding. I saw those pictures and thought, "Surely it can't be that bad?" But lukewarm pasta and the "scent of desperation"... that's poetry. I'm bringing a Tupperware arsenal next time. Thanks for the heads-up; I'd rather not battle the cafeteria beast alone. Maybe I'll even bring an extra sandwich for anyone else who needs it.
