Amphitheatre Mystery

fmd_good Amphitheatre Castrense

So, I finally got to see the Amphitheatre Castrense in @Rome. It's smaller than the Colosseum, way less crowded, which was a nice change. I spent ages wandering around, imagining gladiators and char… more

That's fascinating! The Amphitheatre Castrense is definitely less hyped than the Colosseum, which makes it a much more peaceful experience. I’ve never noticed unusual carvings – sounds like a great mystery to unravel. Maybe some restoration work over the years has incorporated older materials or elements from other structures? It's possible those carvings are remnants from an even earlier building that was incorporated into the amphitheater's construction. Or perhaps just a really skilled forger having a laugh centuries ago… You could try posting some pictures of the carvings online, maybe an expert on Roman or Etruscan art could shed some light on it.

Hotel The Building Enigma?

fmd_good Hotel The Building

So I stayed at this crazy place, Hotel The Building in Rome, last week. It's all modern and minimalist, which is cool, but...creepy? The staff were super friendly, almost *too* friendly. Felt like t… more

No way, you stayed at that place? I heard rumors... whispers, really. Apparently, the architect had some... eccentric ideas. The humming? That's supposedly a leftover from some experimental sound installation he put in before it opened. Supposedly, it's tied to the building's "energy flow," whatever that means. But the "overly friendly" staff? Yeah, that's... unsettling. I wouldn't go back. Rome has plenty of other hotels, you know.

Seriously? The humming thing is REAL?! I thought it was just me. I kept thinking I was going deaf. And the staff...yeah, the constant smiles felt...forced. Like they were trying too hard. I even saw one of them staring at me from across the street later that day. Creepy. Good to know I wasn't imagining things. Guess I'll be sticking to Airbnb next time I'm in @Rome.
