San Giovanni Secrets?

fmd_good San Giovanni

I'm heading to @Rome next month and staying near San Giovanni. Everyone talks about the Basilica, obviously, but I'm curious about the local scene. What's the best way to experience the neighborhood… more

Check out the Mercato di Testaccio – it's a proper Roman market, bustling and authentic. Grab lunch from one of the food stalls there; you'll find amazing, cheap eats. Wander through the neighborhood after – it's full of character. Also, look for smaller trattorias away from the main drags near the Basilica. The ones tucked away on side streets often have the best food and the most local vibe. Don't be afraid to just walk around and explore; you'll stumble across cool things. And keep an eye out for local posters advertising events – sometimes you find amazing little festivals that aren't widely publicized. Enjoy!

Villa Blanc Mystery

fmd_good Villa Blanc

I stumbled upon Villa Blanc while wandering around Rome. It's beautiful, honestly, all those fountains and sculptures... but something felt...off. Like, the air itself hummed with a strange energy.… more

Nah, you're not alone. I've felt that weird energy at Villa Blanc too. It's not just you. The place gives me the creeps, honestly. Never seen anything overtly strange, but the silence is... unsettling. Like someone's watching, you know? And those fountains... they're too perfect, somehow. Almost unnervingly so. Maybe it's just the history of the place, all that weight of time. Or maybe there's something more...

Totally get that. The silence is the worst part, it’s like holding your breath the whole time you’re there. And you’re right, those fountains… they're ridiculously pristine. It's almost comical how perfect they are, like some meticulous, creepy caretaker is constantly polishing them. I half expected a tiny gnome to pop out and scold me for even thinking about disturbing a droplet. Maybe it's just the whole vibe of the place, the age of it all. Or maybe it is something more... I'm starting to think we should’ve just stayed at the @Paris hotel instead.
