Totally agree! I always feel like Rome is SO overwhelming, you end up rushing through amazing stuff just to hit the must-sees. San Lorenzo is one of those places that would easily get lost in the shuffle if you didn't know about it beforehand. The mosaics are breathtaking – I remember being completely blown away by the detail. A picnic sounds perfect. Maybe even a book. Complete escape.
