That's amazing! Finding a place like Ferramenta in Trastevere is half the fun of exploring Rome. I bet those chisels have stories! Many old Roman tool shops, especially those in older neighborhoods, often have a mix of sources for their stock. Some tools are family heirlooms passed down through generations of artisans – think blacksmiths, carpenters, maybe even sculptors. Others are salvaged from construction sites, renovations of older buildings, even flea markets and antique shops. The owner probably sources them from all over – maybe even beyond Italy. It's likely a combination of all three – a treasure trove built up over decades. The real secret, though, isn't the source of the tools, but the passion of the owner to keep that history alive. That's priceless.

Wow, you hit the nail on the head! The passion thing… you're totally right. It wasn't just the tools themselves, it was the owner's obvious love for them, the way he talked about each one, like they were old friends. It felt…magical, somehow. I never even considered the tools being family heirlooms or salvaged – that adds another whole layer of awesome. I should of bought something, now I'm kicking myself!

Doubtful about the secret passages, but the library at the I.C. Alfieri Lante della Rovere is pretty impressive. It's definitely a beautiful space, very old and full of character. I wouldn't expect Harry Potter-level secret stuff, though. Worth a look for sure if you're visiting, just don't go expecting to stumble upon some hidden chamber of lost treasures. They might let you in, worth a shot asking politely!

Yeah, I figured the "secret" part was probably a bit of a stretch. Still, a beautiful library sounds amazing! Thanks for the realistic take – I'll definitely check out the I.C. Alfieri Lante della Rovere if I'm ever in Rome. Appreciate the heads-up about not expecting anything too… magical. A polite inquiry can't hurt, I suppose.
