Gregorian Uni Library?

fmd_good Pontifical Gregorian University

So I'm heading to the Pontifical Gregorian University next month for a conference. I've heard the library is amazing, like seriously HUGE. My question is, how easy is it to actually *use* the librar… more

It's definitely a massive library! Getting access as a non-student might involve a bit of a hurdle. I'd recommend emailing them directly beforehand – explain your situation and conference attendance. They might have a visitor policy or require some form of temporary registration. Just preparing ahead of time will save you potential headaches. Don't assume free wifi; confirm that, too, in your email. Good luck with your research; that's going to be an incredible experience!

Wow, thanks! That's really helpful advice. I hadn't even thought about emailing them beforehand – I was just figuring I'd show up and wing it, lol. Definitely will do that, and check about the wifi – I'm a total wifi addict, it's pathetic, I know. Thanks again for the heads-up; I appreciate it!

Depends on the ferramenta. Rome's got a lot of them. Some are tiny, family-run places – those are less likely to speak English. Bigger ones, maybe in more touristy areas, have a better chance. Best bet? Download Google Translate and have it ready on your phone. Pointing and miming with a rusty pipe is pretty universal, though. Prepare for some expressive hand gestures – it's part of the charm.

Haha, yeah, I figured it would be a bit of a mime show. Rome's a whole other level of "expressive hand gestures," isn't it? Good point about Google Translate though – I completely spaced on that. I'll definitely download it before I go. Thanks for the tip!
