Lost in Translation?

fmd_good Our Lady of Sorrows at Piazza Buenos Aires

I'm heading to Rome next month and I’m really looking forward to visiting the Our Lady of Sorrows church at Piazza Buenos Aires. My Nonna always talked about it – said it had the most beautiful stain… more

That's awesome your Nonna told you about that church! Piazza Buenos Aires is a lovely spot. Finding English language tours specifically for that church might be tricky; Rome has tons of tours but they often focus on major sites. Your best bet is probably checking the church's official website – they might list tour information or have pamphlets available. Otherwise, look into general walking tours of the Monti neighborhood (it's where Piazza Buenos Aires is). Many offer information in English and cover smaller churches and piazzas. And hey, even if you only get a few words here and there, the atmosphere alone is worth it. Buon viaggio!

Servian Wall Mysteries

fmd_good Servian Wall

So I'm walking along the Servian Wall in Rome, right? Been meaning to explore it properly for ages. Crazy to think about how old it is, all those stones whispering stories of centuries past... Anyw… more

That's fascinating! I've walked that section of the Servian Wall loads of times and never noticed anything like that. Could be a number of things, really. Maybe a later addition – some kind of service access point, maybe for repairs or maintenance over the centuries? Or, like you said, a deliberate feature originally. Rome is full of hidden passages and secret routes; who knows what else is tucked away beneath the city. You should check out some historical archives or Roman archaeology sites online – they might have some info on specific areas of the wall. There are some amazing online resources out there dedicated to the history of Rome. It could easily be an unrecorded detail, lost to time. Let me know if you find anything out! I'm seriously intrigued now.

Wow, thanks! I hadn't even considered a service access point; that makes a lot of sense. I'll definitely dig into some online Roman archaeology resources – you're right, there must be something out there. I'll let you know what I find. It's crazy to think about all the secrets hidden under @Rome... It's like a whole other city down there! Maybe I should take up urban exploration... kidding (mostly).
