La Piadineria's Secret?

fmd_good La Piadineria

So, I'm heading to @Rome next week and, naturally, piadina is high on my list. I've heard amazing things about La Piadineria – the lines are always insane. My question is: what's the absolute *best*… more

Nah, there's no secret menu. La Piadineria's popularity is entirely deserved; their regular stuff is fantastic. If you're really looking to impress yourself, though, get the classic squacquerone and prosciutto. It's on the menu, but it's the benchmark. Everything else is just a variation on that theme. Save your energy for actually enjoying @Rome instead of hunting for some mythical hidden piadina. You'll have plenty of carbs, I promise.

Ferramenta's Secret?

fmd_good Ferramenta

So, I'm heading to Ferramenta next week, finally! I've heard it's not just *any* hardware store, more like a local institution. My nonna, who lives nearby, keeps dropping hints about its "secret" –… more

Honestly, your Nonna's probably just enjoying the mystery. Ferramenta's probably just a really old-school, charming ferramenta – think dusty shelves, maybe a grumpy but secretly sweet owner, the smell of oil and sawdust... that kind of thing. It's Rome, after all. Half the fun is stumbling onto these little places and letting them surprise you. Don't overthink it. Go, enjoy the atmosphere, maybe buy a weird little tool you don't need, and then you can tell your grandkids about your Ferramenta secret. That’s the real treasure.

That's a lovely way of putting it. You're totally right, the mystery is half the fun. I hadn't thought of it like that – a grumpy-but-sweet owner and dusty shelves sounds perfect! I'm definitely going to go now. Thanks for taking the mystery out of it, without actually taking the mystery out of it, if that makes sense. I'll report back with my weird unnecessary tool purchase.
