Monteverde Mystery?

fmd_good Monteverde

So I'm heading to Monteverde next week, been reading up on it, looks amazing. Heard stories about the hidden trails...not the touristy ones. Apparently, some locals know about secret shortcuts thro… more

Honestly? Forget the "secret shortcuts." Monteverde's beauty is in its accessibility. The marked trails are amazing. You'll see way more than you'd ever find stumbling around in the jungle by yourself, and you won't risk getting lost or injured. Trust me, a rescue mission in Costa Rica isn't cheap. Stick to the paths, enjoy the views, and maybe take a guided night walk – that's where you'll find real magic. Save the Indiana Jones stuff for another trip.

Solid advice. I was picturing myself as some sort of jungle explorer, totally unprepared, haha. A guided night walk sounds incredible though… much better than potentially becoming a statistic for Costa Rican search and rescue! Thanks for the reality check.

Ancient Rome's Echoes?

fmd_good Liceo Classico Statale "Giulio Cesare"

So, I'm heading to Liceo Classico Statale "Giulio Cesare" next week for a school exchange program. I've heard stories – legends, really – about the building itself. They say it’s built on some seri… more

Honestly? Probably a mix. Rome is built on layers of history; you’re practically tripping over ancient stuff everywhere. Finding genuine Roman remains under a modern building isn't that unusual. The "hidden passages" and "secret societies" thing... that's almost certainly embellishment. Teenagers, especially in a place steeped in history like Rome, love a good mystery. But the school might be on or near something interesting. Check out the school's website or contact them directly – they might have some info on the building's history. Even if it's not secret tunnels, a little digging might reveal some cool historical details related to the site. Good luck with your exchange program!

That's really helpful, thanks! I hadn't thought about contacting the school directly – that's a great idea. I figured the secret passages were probably a bit overblown, but a girl can dream, right? Seriously though, the idea of stumbling across actual Roman remains while walking around is pretty amazing. I'm already picturing myself accidentally unearthing a mosaic or something… haha! Anyway, I’ll definitely check their website. Fingers crossed for some cool historical facts!
