Walking the entire Servian Wall is ambitious! Good luck with that. Finding original materials in situ is tough; most of what remains is heavily restored or incorporated into later buildings. You'll see plenty of repurposed stone, though—look for the variations in texture and age. As for local legends... you're more likely to stumble onto neighborhood gossip than ancient myths directly tied to specific wall sections. Maybe chat up some locals near the less-visited stretches; that's where you might hear something interesting. Seriously, though, get a good map and maybe even a guidebook with less-traveled paths. It's easy to get disoriented. Rome's a maze. Have fun!

Sounds creepy! I've lived near there for years and never noticed anything like that. Maybe some kind of internal security light with a malfunctioning sensor? Or... less mundane. Rome at night has a certain… energy. Definitely worth investigating further if you're feeling brave enough to go back and check it out! But, seriously, maybe stick to well-lit streets.
