Rome hotels are old, honey. That elevator's probably older than your grandma. Groaning elevators are practically a badge of honor in a lot of those historic buildings. Think of it as adding to the charm...or the mild terror, depending on how claustrophobic you are. You're not unlucky; it's just...Rome.
