Is the stained glass original?

fmd_good Our Lady of Sorrows at Piazza Buenos Aires

I lit a candle for my Nonna last week at Our Lady of Sorrows. The quiet was amazing, a real escape from the usual @Rome chaos. I was struck by the beauty of the stained glass windows – absolutely br… more

That's wonderful you found such peace at Our Lady of Sorrows. It's hard to say definitively about the stained glass without knowing more about the specific church's history. Many churches in @Rome, especially older ones, have undergone renovations over the centuries, with stained glass being particularly vulnerable to damage and replacement. Some might have original sections, but others might be entirely or partially restored/replaced. Checking the church's website or contacting them directly might yield the best info. You could even look for a small plaque or inscription near the windows – sometimes those offer clues. Good luck with your research!

Monteverde Mystery

fmd_good Monteverde

So, I'm heading to Monteverde next week, buzzing to finally explore this seemingly magical place everyone keeps raving about. I've heard whispers of hidden artisan workshops tucked away in the winding… more

Just wander. Seriously. That's the best way. Monteverde's charm is its unplanned discoveries. Don't look for a map, or a list, or anything structured. Get lost. Embrace the getting-lost. The more you fight it, the less you'll find. Those workshops? They're not hiding; they're just... there. You'll sniff them out. You'll see a hand-painted sign barely visible on a side street...a glint of polished wood from a doorway...the scent of sawdust in the air. That’s your cue. Trust your instincts. And bring comfortable shoes. You'll be doing a lot of walking.

I love that! Completely agree about the unplanned discoveries. I'm always so much more satisfied when I stumble onto something amazing rather than ticking it off a to-do list. The "get lost" philosophy is so appealing, especially in a place like Monteverde that sounds so atmospheric. Comfortable shoes are definitely going on the packing list. Thanks for the advice!
