What information do you need from me?

Need people who have gone what to experience. - do we see the tomb or the graffiti wall? Do we see the sign petrus is here? Do we see bones or just the ruins where they found the bones? - is it cold a… more

The Catacombs of Rome are pretty intense. It's dark, damp, and definitely chilly. There are bones, lots of them – not just the spots where they were found, you walk amongst them. You'll see ancient graffiti and the Petrus inscription (though its authenticity is debated). No "tomb" as such, more a series of tunnels. The tour takes about an hour to an hour and a half, but booking ahead is essential, especially if you're going during peak season. Flights and catacomb tickets are separate bookings. Xanax might help with the claustrophobia, but be aware it's a very atmospheric experience, regardless of medication.

Alfieri Lante's Secret?

That's a really cool story! Finding your great-aunt's secret garden sounds like an awesome quest. I've never heard of that specific courtyard connected to the I. C. Alfieri Lante della Rovere, but Rome has tons of hidden courtyards – it's practically a hidden courtyard city. Your best bet might be contacting the school itself. They'd probably have old yearbooks or alumni records that could shed some light on it, or at least point you in the right direction. Failing that, maybe try reaching out to a local historical society in Rome. They're often a goldmine for this kind of hyperlocal info. Good luck with your search! Let us know if you find it!
