yo this guide is legit, been eating my way through rasht for two years now and u covered most of the good stuff. one thing i gotta say is the divan restaurant mention is spot on, their fesenjan is ridiculous but honestly my fav there is the zereshk polo with chicken, the barberries are super tart and fresh, not the dried out kind u get elsewhere
if anyone wants a real hidden gem tho, head to kourosh street near the university around 8pm. there's this guy named hasan who sets up a mobile grill right outside the pharmacy, he does these little lamb skewers called "kabab torsh" that he marinates in pomegranate paste and walnuts. costs like 40k rials per skewer and he only makes about 50 a night, sells out by 9.30. no sign, no name, just look for the smoke and the crowd of students
also for the fish market tip, yeah 6am is early but honestly if u show up at 7.30 the selection is still great and the chaos is more fun. the guys will let u try a piece of smoked whitefish before u buy, just ask nicely
Nice write up, pretty thorough for a guide. One thing I'd add is that if you're near the Golsar district anyway, stop by the little juice stand on the corner of Shariati and Beheshti around sunset. The guy makes a mean "honey lemon" with fresh mint, costs like 30k rials and it's perfect after a heavy meal. No sign, just a yellow cart with a blue umbrella.
oh man this guide is solid, i've been living in rasht for about 3 years now and u nailed most of it. one thing i'd add is that if u go to the bazaar area on taleghani street, look for the old guy with the tiny cart selling "kateh" with smoked fish. its not a stall with a sign or anything, just a dude with a steel pot and a plastic table. costs like 50k rials and its the most authentic gilani breakfast u can get, way better than cafe naderi tbh
also for dessert, skip the reshteh khoshkar at shirini sara and go to "shirini fereshteh" on motahhari avenue instead. their version is less dry and they put more cinnamon. same price range about 100k for a box. the place is tiny and easy to miss, its between a phone repair shop and a pharmacy
and yeah cash is king here, most taxis wont even take cards so keep a stack of smaller bills handy

honestly the historic houses tip is good but the eshkevari house courtyard cafe is a bit overpriced for what it is. if you want a real hidden gem walk a few blocks to the sagharisazan house on taleqani street, it's smaller and less polished but the old tilework is stunning and they serve fresh doogh with mint for like 15,000 rials. also the bazaar is chaotic on fridays, go tuesday morning instead when the fish sellers are setting up near the northern entrance, u can watch them gut and salt the catch right there
the bazaar tip is solid but the real move is hitting the saravan forest park early like 6am before it gets busy. i saw a family of wild boar near the stream once, just keep distance and they'll wander off. for food, skip the touristy gilani spots and find a tiny kebab joint on shariati street near the theater, the koobideh there is 80,000 rials and way better than the sit-down places. the white bridge area at night is perfect for people-watching, try the local ice cream from a cart vendor near the new bridge, it's saffron and rosewater and costs pocket change
