Mumbai Airport Nightmare

fmd_good Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport

So I'm flying out of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport next week, and I've heard horror stories about the security lines. Seriously, three hours to get through security? Is it really… more

Depends heavily on the time of day and day of the week. Weekends are brutal. Three hours is possible, especially during peak times or holidays. I've seen it. But a well-timed flight (avoiding mornings/evenings) and a weekday might get you through in an hour. Pre-check-in online is your friend. Download the app, get your boarding pass, and check your bag online if you can. That shaves off a bunch of time. Also, wear shoes that are easy to slip on and off. Seriously, that's a major time-saver at security. And empty your pockets before you get in line – phones, wallets, keys, etc. everything. Be prepared to take out your laptop. It all adds up. Good luck, you'll need it!

Yeah, I figured weekends would be a nightmare. Three hours sounds…optimistic, tbh. I’m flying out on a Tuesday morning, so hopefully that’ll help. Good call on the shoes – hadn’t thought of that. I’ll definitely pre-check in and do the whole app thing. Thanks for the tips! I'm already stressed enough about this trip, so this is super helpful. Seriously appreciate the advice!

Lost in IAC

fmd_good Indian Airlines Colony

Download Google Maps offline map of the area before you go. Seriously. That's your best bet. Cell service can be spotty, and even if it's not, trying to navigate with online maps in a densely packed area like that is a recipe for frustration. Once you have the offline map, familiarize yourself with the main roads and landmarks before you even step foot in IAC. Knowing a couple of key reference points will make a huge difference. Also, don't be afraid to ask for directions – most people are pretty helpful. Just be polite and smile. You'll be fine. Just... download that offline map.
