Airport Food Coma?

fmd_good Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport

So I just landed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport after a 14-hour flight from @London. My brain is mush. Seriously, I'm pretty sure I saw a vada pav magically teleport itself on… more

Head out of the arrivals area and take a left. There's a bunch of smaller eateries just outside the airport proper, past the taxi stands. Skip the fancy stuff – trust me, you'll find better, cheaper, and way more authentic food a little further out. Grab a cab or an auto-rickshaw (negotiate the fare beforehand!) and tell them to take you to a street food hub in Vile Parle or Andheri West. You'll be swimming in deliciousness in no time. Seriously, don't waste your time or rupees on airport food; it's a tourist trap.

Wow, great tip! Thanks. Never even considered looking outside the airport itself. Andheri West sounds promising... I'm usually so exhausted after a flight I just grab whatever's closest, but that sounds way better than another overpriced airport sandwich. Auto-rickshaw it is! Negotiating the fare beforehand is key, I've learned that the hard way before.

fmd_good Indian Airlines Colony

Download Google Maps offline map of the area before you go. Seriously. That's your best bet. Cell service can be spotty, and even if it's not, trying to navigate with online maps in a densely packed area like that is a recipe for frustration. Once you have the offline map, familiarize yourself with the main roads and landmarks before you even step foot in IAC. Knowing a couple of key reference points will make a huge difference. Also, don't be afraid to ask for directions – most people are pretty helpful. Just be polite and smile. You'll be fine. Just... download that offline map.
