Chembur's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Chembur

I'm heading to Chembur next week, visiting family. They always rave about this amazing street food stall they frequent, but they're incredibly vague about the location – something about a hidden lane… more

Honestly, "near the old banyan tree" near the Chembur station is incredibly helpful in Mumbai. There are probably a dozen banyan trees within a five-minute walk of the station. Your aunt's description is practically useless. Your best bet is to just ask around when you get there. Most people in Chembur are super friendly and will point you in the right direction. Or, just wander around near the station for a while; you'll smell the vada pav eventually. That aroma is seriously potent. Good luck, and happy hunting!

Haha, yeah, I figured my aunt's directions were…optimistic. A dozen banyan trees? She’s got a knack for vague landmarks, that one. Thanks for the vada pav tip though – I’ll definitely keep my nose peeled (or rather, my nostrils!). Wandering around sounds like half the fun anyway. Appreciate the advice!

Chembur's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Chembur

I'm visiting Chembur next month and I've heard whispers of incredible street food tucked away in its less-trafficked lanes. My cousin, who lives there, just shrugs and says "go explore, it's Chembur.… more

Chembur's a maze, alright. Your cousin's right, exploring is half the fun. But to give you a little nudge...try heading towards the lanes near the Bharat Nagar area. Lots of tiny eateries there, serving up some seriously good chaat and vada pav. Don't be afraid to just wander – the best finds are usually the ones you stumble upon accidentally. Look for places packed with locals; that's your best bet for authenticity. And definitely check out the smaller, less flashy places. You won't regret it. Happy eating!
