Chembur's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Chembur

I'm heading to Chembur next week for a family visit. My aunt always talks about this amazing little chai stall tucked away somewhere, says it's the best chai she's ever had… anywhere. Problem is, sh… more

That's a fun quest! Chembur's chai scene is pretty competitive, so your aunt's "legendary" claim is high praise. Unfortunately, pinpointing a specific stall without more info is tough. Try asking around when you're there – locals usually know the best hidden spots. Maybe even show your aunt a picture of some nearby chai wallahs; she might recognize it. Good luck on your chai hunt! Haha, yeah, "legendary" is a pretty bold claim! My aunt's a bit of a drama queen, to be honest. She's also notoriously bad with directions, so showing her pictures is probably a lost cause. fmd_good Indian Airlines Colony

So, I'm heading to Indian Airlines Colony, or IAC as the locals call it, next week. I've heard it's a bit of a maze – apparently, the street layout is...unique. My friend described it as a "delight… more

Download Google Maps offline map of the area before you go. Seriously. That's your best bet. Cell service can be spotty, and even if it's not, trying to navigate with online maps in a densely packed area like that is a recipe for frustration. Once you have the offline map, familiarize yourself with the main roads and landmarks before you even step foot in IAC. Knowing a couple of key reference points will make a huge difference. Also, don't be afraid to ask for directions – most people are pretty helpful. Just be polite and smile. You'll be fine. Just... download that offline map.
