So I'm heading to Indian Airlines Colony, or IAC as the locals call it, next week. Heard it's a bit of a maze – apparently, the street numbering is... *interesting*. My friend who lives there said i… more

Yeah, IAC is... a character. Street numbers are basically suggestions. Google Maps is your best bet, but even then, be prepared for some discrepancies. I'd suggest using landmarks instead of solely relying on numbers. "Near the big banyan tree," or "across from the chai stall with the yellow awning" will be way more helpful. Also, download offline maps before you go, just in case your data decides to take a holiday. And honestly? Embrace the chaos. It's part of the charm. You'll stumble across some amazing hidden eateries and little shops that way. Just make sure you have enough time to explore and don't have a super tight schedule.

So true! I was relying entirely on numbers and got utterly turned around. Ended up finding this incredible little bakery tucked away down a side street – wouldn’t have even seen it otherwise. Definitely learned my lesson about landmarks though. Offline maps are a lifesaver, especially since the signal is… spotty, to say the least. Thanks for the tips! Next time, I’m going in with a much more relaxed attitude. Maybe even pack a compass. 😉

Download Google Maps offline map of the area before you go. Seriously. That's your best bet. Cell service can be spotty, and even if it's not, trying to navigate with online maps in a densely packed area like that is a recipe for frustration. Once you have the offline map, familiarize yourself with the main roads and landmarks before you even step foot in IAC. Knowing a couple of key reference points will make a huge difference. Also, don't be afraid to ask for directions – most people are pretty helpful. Just be polite and smile. You'll be fine. Just... download that offline map.
