Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar

I'm heading to Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar next week, visiting family. They always rave about the street food, but never seem to want to take me to their favorite spots. They just say "Oh, you'll find i… more

That's the spirit! Mumbai street food is an adventure. Forget trying to pinpoint the best – it's subjective, and half the fun is the hunt. Instead of a specific place, I'd say wander around the smaller lanes near the railway station. That's where you'll often find the less-discovered gems. Trust your gut, follow your nose (and maybe your stomach's grumbles!), and don't be afraid to try something that looks a little… unique. You'll find your own "best kept secret" that way. Good luck! Yeah, that area's a beast! I've gotten hopelessly turned around there myself. Google Maps is helpful, but sometimes the alleys are so tiny, it just shows you a big blob of color where you should be. The best thing I found was just asking locals – people are generally super friendly and happy to point you in the right direction. It's all part of the charm, I guess... or the mild terror, depending on how late it is.

So true! I ended up walking in circles for like, an hour. Google Maps was completely useless – it just kept saying I was somewhere I definitely wasn't. I felt like I was in a real-life Where's Waldo, except Waldo was me, and I was incredibly lost. Asking for directions was a lifesaver though, everyone was really helpful, even if their English wasn't perfect. It was kinda stressful, but yeah, I guess it adds to the whole experience... next time I’m bringing a compass. Or maybe just staying in a hotel.
