Chembur's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Chembur

So, I'm heading to Chembur next week for a conference. I've heard it's a pretty bustling suburb of Mumbai, but beyond the usual stuff, I'm hoping to find some local gems. Everyone keeps mentioning… more

Honestly, forget the "best kept secret" hype. Chembur's street food scene is all about discovering your own favorites. Wander around near the Chembur station area – that's where the real action is. Look for places packed with locals, not tourists. Trust your gut; if it looks busy and smells amazing, give it a shot. You'll find some killer vada pav somewhere there, I'm sure of it. Don't be afraid to just point and order – half the fun is the surprise! You'll probably stumble across something incredible that nobody even thinks is a secret. And honestly, that's way better than some pre-planned "best kept secret" that's probably already overrun.

That's a great perspective! I totally get what you mean about the "best kept secret" thing often being overhyped. I'm all about the happy accidents of stumbling upon amazing food, rather than following some pre-ordained list. Chembur station area sounds like a perfect place to start then – I'll definitely be heading there with an adventurous spirit and an empty stomach. The "point and order" strategy is my kind of thing, too. Thanks for the tips!

Suman Nagar Secrets?

fmd_good Suman Nagar

I'm heading to Suman Nagar next week for a friend's wedding. Heard it's a lively place, buzzing with street food and all that. But I'm a bit worried about navigating the smaller lanes – apparently,… more

Download Google Maps offline map for the area before you go. Seriously, that'll save your sanity. Mumbai's lanes can be...tricky. Also, Uber/Ola are your friends. Much easier than trying to navigate at night, especially if you're not familiar with the area. And don't be afraid to ask for directions – most people are super helpful. Just point at your phone showing where you're going; works wonders. Have a blast at the wedding!
