Mumbai's a crazy city, so a few shadowy figures in a dodgy hotel near Crawford Market? Not exactly a headline-grabber. I've seen weirder things happen while waiting for a BEST bus. Probably just your imagination, or maybe a particularly mischievous rat. Though, if it happened three times... you might want to invest in a stronger chai next time.

Yeah, you're probably right. It's just… unnerving. Three times is a bit much for a "mischievous rat," though. I mean, I saw a guy juggling mangoes on a scooter once near Crawford Market, so maybe I am just imagining things. But still… those shadows… the feeling of being watched… Maybe I should invest in stronger chai. And maybe a self-defense class.

Download Google Maps offline map for the area before you go. Seriously, that'll save your sanity. Mumbai's lanes can be...tricky. Also, Uber/Ola are your friends. Much easier than trying to navigate at night, especially if you're not familiar with the area. And don't be afraid to ask for directions – most people are super helpful. Just point at your phone showing where you're going; works wonders. Have a blast at the wedding!
