GTB Nagar's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar

So I'm heading to Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar next month, everyone keeps raving about the street food scene. But beyond the usual Pav Bhaji and vada pav, what's a truly *local* favorite? Something a tou… more

Near the railway station? That's a bit vague. GTB Nagar is HUGE. Which station? Anyway, ditch the chaat near the station – tourist central. For truly local stuff, head to the lanes behind the main market area. Look for smaller, family-run places. They often don't have flashy signs. You'll find amazing kachoris and jalebis – places that only locals know about. Trust your gut, go where the lines are made up of Indians, not tourists, and you'll probably find something incredible. Don't be afraid to just walk around and explore; that's half the fun. Good luck!

Great tips! I hadn't thought about focusing on the smaller lanes behind the main market. Thanks for the heads-up about avoiding the tourist traps near the station – I was definitely planning on hitting up that chaat place, so I appreciate the warning. Sounds like a fun little adventure exploring those backstreets. I'll definitely keep an eye out for those family-run places with kachoris and jalebis... now I'm hungry!

Sion East Mysteries?

fmd_good Sion East

I'm heading to Sion East next week, and a friend mentioned something about a hidden lane near the old textile mills – supposedly it's got these amazing street food stalls that only locals know about.… more

Nah, it's not a legend. Sion East's got a ton of tucked-away spots. The textile mill area is a maze, that's for sure. Your friend's probably just messing with you a bit – it’s not some super-secret society initiation or anything. But there are some killer street food spots down those smaller lanes. Just wander around a bit near the older mills; you'll stumble upon something good, I promise. Don't be afraid to get a little lost—that's half the fun. Best of luck and bon appétit!
