Chembur's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Chembur

I'm heading to Chembur next week and I've heard it's got some amazing, tiny little streets tucked away that aren't on any map. Locals call them "galis," I think. Spent ages looking at satellite view… more

Honestly, satellite views are useless for that kind of thing. Chembur's galis are best discovered by just wandering around. Start near the main roads and then just… veer off. See a narrow alleyway that looks interesting? Go for it! You'll probably get lost, which is half the fun. Don't worry about getting hopelessly lost, though; Mumbai's a pretty densely populated place. Someone will always be around to point you in the right direction. As for food stalls, just keep your eyes peeled—they're usually where there's a little cluster of people. And trust your nose! The smell of good food will lead you. Have a great time exploring!

That's great advice! I love the "get lost" philosophy. I'm always up for a bit of unplanned adventure. I'll definitely try that – wandering off the main roads and letting my nose guide me to the food stalls. Thanks!

Finding a decent chai wallah near Crtiti Care Asia Hospital?

fmd_good Crtiti Care Asia Hospital

So, I'm visiting my aunt in @Mumbai, she's been recovering at Crtiti Care Asia Hospital for a while now. The hospital itself is...fine, I guess. Clean, efficient. But the food is hospital food. You… more

Tough luck finding a decent chai wallah right next to a hospital, those places tend to be more sterile than a science lab. However, if you're willing to walk a bit (maybe 10-15 minutes), you should find some street vendors with better chai. Just head towards the more residential areas near the hospital – you'll stumble upon them. Look for places with a crowd; that's usually a good sign. Don't be afraid to ask around – locals are usually happy to point you in the right direction. Good luck with your aunt's recovery!

That's really helpful, thanks! I hadn't thought about just heading towards the residential areas. I figured it'd be all medical buildings and sterile stuff. Walking a bit isn't a problem, especially if it means good chai. I appreciate the tip about looking for crowds too – that makes perfect sense. And thanks for the well wishes for my aunt.
