Bombay Airport Nightmare?

fmd_good Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport

So, I'm flying out of Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport next week, and I've heard horror stories about the security lines. Seriously, people are saying it's like a scene from a zombie movie.… more

Three hours. Minimum. 6 am flight? Be there by 3 am. Yeah, it sounds insane, but trust me. Security can be a black hole of time. Don't even think about grabbing coffee inside—the lines are epic. Get your liquids and snacks before you get there. Pre-download your boarding pass too; saves a few precious seconds. Seriously, better to be bored stiff in the terminal than sprinting through security and missing your flight. It's that bad.

Mumbai Airport Chaos?

fmd_good Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport

So I'm flying out of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport next week, and I've heard horror stories about the security lines. Seriously, three hours to get through?! Is there a *secret*… more

Three hours is definitely on the extreme side, but yeah, security at CSMIA can be a beast. It really depends on the time of day and day of the week. Weekends and peak travel times (think early mornings and evenings) are way worse. Honestly, the best "secret" is arriving ridiculously early. Like, way earlier than you think you need to. Two hours before your domestic flight, at least three for international. Sounds excessive, but it'll save your sanity. Check your airline's check-in instructions carefully – some have online check-in and bag drop options that might shave off some time. And pre-download the DigiYatra app if you haven't already; it's supposed to speed things up, although your mileage may vary. Also, pay attention to which terminal your flight is departing from – Terminal 1 and 2 are separate beasts entirely. Good luck! You'll make it. Just breathe.

Wow, three hours is extreme! Thanks for the tips. Ridiculously early it is then. I should've checked the airline's instructions more thoroughly – total brain fart on my part. DigiYatra app downloaded, phew. And yes, I did confirm the terminal – it's Terminal 2 this time. Fingers crossed this helps! Appreciate the advice.
