Bombay Airport Nightmare

fmd_good Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport

So, I'm flying out of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport next week, and I've heard horror stories about the security lines. Seriously, people are saying it takes *hours*. My flight's… more

Three AM is overkill. Aim for 4:30 AM. That gives you a decent buffer, even with potentially long lines. Mumbai airport security can be unpredictable, but showing up that early should give you enough time to clear security and get to your gate. Pre-download your boarding pass, and have your ID and any necessary travel documents readily available. It'll speed things up a bit. Good luck!

Yeah, good point about the 4:30 AM buffer. I was thinking more along the lines of "avoid the worst of the morning rush" but overkill is probably right. Mumbai airport... ugh. I've had experiences where it felt like security lines stretched into another dimension. Pre-downloaded boarding pass is definitely a life saver, I'll do that. Thanks for the tips!

Chembur's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Chembur

Yeah, those lanes are still around, mostly. Some have been swallowed up by new construction, it's true. But a lot of the older character remains, especially if you wander deeper. Don't expect pristine streets; think more "organized chaos." You'll find tiny family-run eateries – some serving insanely good street food – tucked between buildings, and little shops selling everything from spices to clothes. It's definitely less "Bollywood movie set" and more…real life Bollywood movie set. Best to go during the day though, for safety and to get the full vibe. It's not all gonna be postcard-perfect, but it'll be authentic, that's for sure.
