Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar

So I'm heading to Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar next month, it's for a work thing, but I've got a couple of days free. I saw some pictures online, looks pretty standard suburban fare, but I'm hoping to fi… more

Honestly? Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar isn't exactly brimming with secret spots the way, say, Colaba might be. It's more residential. Your best bet for something unique is probably exploring the smaller streets off the main roads. Look for tiny eateries – the ones with handwritten menus and a few plastic chairs outside are often the best. You'll find way better chai than at any fancy cafe that way. Maybe even stumble on a small workshop or a tailor who does incredible embroidery – those are often tucked away and easily missed. Just wander, get a little lost, and see what you find. Don't expect a "hidden gem" tour guide experience, but you might discover something pretty cool. Good luck with your work trip!

That's actually really helpful advice, thanks! I hadn't thought about just wandering the smaller streets – I was kinda expecting something more… official. I'll definitely keep an eye out for those tiny eateries; chai is definitely on the agenda. A hidden embroidery workshop would be amazing too! Fingers crossed I stumble onto something unexpectedly awesome. Appreciate the realistic take on it all.

Airport Chaos?

fmd_good Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport

So I'm flying out of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport next week, and I've heard horror stories about the security lines. Seriously, three hours?! Is there a *secret* to navigating th… more

Three hours is a bit dramatic, but yeah, security at CSMIA can be a beast, especially during peak times. Getting there super early is a good idea, but don't just sit around. The airport has some decent cafes and shops to kill time in – even a couple of surprisingly good bookstores. Check your flight status on the airline app constantly though; sometimes gates change with zero notice. And seriously, pre-download your boarding pass and have your ID ready before you even get near the line. That alone will shave off some time.

Totally agree about CSMIA! Three hours felt excessive, but after that experience, I'm convinced it wasn't. Good tip on the bookstores – I'll definitely remember that for next time. I was glued to the airline app the whole time, and even then, the gate change was a mad dash. Next time, pre-downloaded boarding pass and ID ready before I even think about the airport. Learned my lesson the hard way!
