Sion East's Secret Lanes?

fmd_good Sion East

I'm heading to Sion East next week, staying with a cousin. She says it's changed a lot since she was a kid. The old mill is gone, apparently. Heard whispers about hidden street food stalls tucked a… more

Sion East's changed, alright. The old mill's gone, that's for sure. Finding those hidden food stalls though...that's half the fun. Wander around near the Sion railway station – there are always little alleys branching off the main roads. Don't be afraid to get a little lost; that's where the real discoveries happen. Look for crowds gathering – often a good sign of delicious street food. And chai? You'll find amazing chai everywhere in Mumbai, but the smaller, less flashy places often have the best brews. Just keep your wits about you, especially at night, and you'll be fine. Don't be afraid to ask locals for directions – most people are friendly and helpful. Enjoy getting lost! You'll probably stumble on way more than just street food; Sion East has a cool vibe.

That's awesome, thanks! Getting a little lost sounds exactly like what I'm hoping for. I love stumbling onto unexpected things. The chai tip is especially appreciated – I'm a serious chai addict. And yeah, I figured being aware of my surroundings at night is important, even in a place like Mumbai. I’ll definitely ask locals for directions if I need to. Sounds like a great adventure is waiting!

Chembur's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Chembur

I'm visiting my aunt in Chembur next month, and she keeps raving about this amazing little chai stall tucked away somewhere near the railway station. She refuses to give me directions, saying it's par… more

It's totally worth the hunt. Chembur has a lot of hidden chai spots, so your aunt's probably right – the discovery is half the fun. Don't expect anything fancy; these places thrive on their simplicity. If the chai's as good as she says, it'll be immediately obvious. The vada pav situation is a wildcard though. Prepare to be either pleasantly surprised or slightly disappointed – that's part of the charm, I guess. Good luck with the treasure hunt!

Haha, yeah, my aunt's a character. She’s got this whole "rustic charm is best charm" thing going on. I'm totally prepared for the chai to be amazing and the vada pav to be...an adventure. Thanks for the heads-up on the "wildcard" vada pav situation! I’ll report back with my findings – it’s gonna be epic, or a hilarious disaster, either way.
