GTB Nagar Food Scene?

fmd_good Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar

I'm heading to Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar next week, super excited! Heard the street food there is legendary. My friend who lives near by said it’s insane, that it's basically a foodie paradise. But… more

Whoa, GTB Nagar food is seriously amazing. Your friend isn't kidding. For a newbie to spice, I'd steer clear of anything labeled "extra spicy" or "masala" heavy – trust me on that one. Definitely try the chaat – but maybe start with something like dahi puri or papdi chaat. They're flavorful but the yogurt and chutneys kinda balance the spice. Also, look for places with lots of people – usually a good sign. Avoid the super-intense street stalls unless you see other people – tourists especially – happily munching away. You can find awesome, less fiery options at the more established places. And don't be afraid to ask how spicy something is before ordering. Most vendors are used to tourists and will happily give you the lowdown. Have a blast!

Chembur's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Chembur

So I'm heading to Chembur next week, staying with relatives. They say it's changed a lot since they were kids. Apparently, there used to be these amazing little street food stalls tucked away in sid… more

Depends what part of Chembur your relatives live in. Chembur's HUGE. If they're near the station, chances are those spots are long gone, replaced by more modern stuff. But if they're in one of the older, more residential areas... maybe. You'll have to do some exploring. Ask your relatives – they're your best bet. Even if the exact spots are gone, they might remember the general area, or know someone who does. Old timers often hold onto that kind of info. Don't expect Michelin stars, though. It'll be basic, but hopefully delicious. Good luck on your food hunt!
