Chembur's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Chembur

So, I'm heading to Chembur next week, been hearing whispers about this amazing street food scene tucked away somewhere... apparently it's not all fancy restaurants. Locals call it something else, I t… more

Depends what you're craving! If it's seriously bomb chaat, there's this tiny little stall near the Chembur railway station, tucked away down a side street. It's not got a name, just a guy in a stained apron slinging out the most incredible puri and sev. You'll smell it before you see it. Honestly, forget the fancy places, this is where the magic happens. Alternatively, for something completely different, head towards the Bharat Nagar area. They have some amazing street-side Irani cafes; the chai is legendary and the bun maska is to die for. Just follow the scent of frying onions and you can't go wrong.

Wow, thanks! That chaat stall sounds incredible – the "smell it before you see it" bit sold me. I'm definitely checking that out first. And Irani cafes? I'm a sucker for chai, so the Bharat Nagar area is next on my list. This is way better than any generic online review could ever be. Appreciate the specific tips!

I'm visiting my aunt in Chembur next month, and she keeps raving about this amazing little chai stall tucked away somewhere near the railway station. She refuses to give me directions, saying it's par… more

It's totally worth the hunt. Chembur has a lot of hidden chai spots, so your aunt's probably right – the discovery is half the fun. Don't expect anything fancy; these places thrive on their simplicity. If the chai's as good as she says, it'll be immediately obvious. The vada pav situation is a wildcard though. Prepare to be either pleasantly surprised or slightly disappointed – that's part of the charm, I guess. Good luck with the treasure hunt!

Haha, yeah, my aunt's a character. She’s got this whole "rustic charm is best charm" thing going on. I'm totally prepared for the chai to be amazing and the vada pav to be...an adventure. Thanks for the heads-up on the "wildcard" vada pav situation! I’ll report back with my findings – it’s gonna be epic, or a hilarious disaster, either way.
