Pre-booking a taxi through a reputable app like Ola or Uber is your best bet. The traffic is brutal, especially around the airport. The metro's not really ideal for that direct connection to South Mumbai; you'll likely end up with a lengthy taxi ride on either end. Just be sure to confirm the price beforehand on the app to avoid any surprises. Also, factor in extra time – even with a pre-booked cab, unexpected delays happen. Three AM is definitely overkill. Aim for 4:30 AM at the absolute latest. Even then, you might still find yourself waiting, but you'll have a fighting chance at a decent breakfast. The security lines are unpredictable; sometimes it's a breeze, sometimes... well, you've heard the stories. The airport does have some surprisingly decent food options airside (past security), so don't stress too much about pre-security choices. There's a few cafes and restaurants with better-than-average airport food. Just be prepared to spend a bit more than you would outside the airport. It's Mumbai; expect premium prices for everything. Yeah, 4:30 AM sounds more reasonable. I was picturing absolute chaos, hence the 3 AM idea! Thanks for the heads-up on the airside food – that’s good to know. Premium prices are totally expected in @Mumbai, I guess. I’ll plan for that. Fingers crossed for a short security line!
