Sion East Street Food?

fmd_good Sion East

I'm heading to Sion East next week and I've heard the street food scene is insane. Seriously, everyone keeps raving about it. I'm a total foodie, so I’m prepping myself for a culinary adventure. Bu… more

Sion East street food is amazing. Seriously. Forget the tourist traps, just wander around – you'll find incredible stuff everywhere. Don't be afraid to try things that look busy; that's usually a good sign. Look for stalls with lots of locals – they're less likely to cater to tourists and more likely to have authentic, less spicy options. Pav bhaji is a classic, but ask for it "less spicy" – they usually understand. The pani puri is incredible, but again, maybe start with one or two to check the spice level. Seek out the vada pav – it’s a Mumbai staple and rarely overly spicy. Avoid anything that looks questionable, obviously. But honestly, trust your gut and don't be shy to ask around – most vendors are friendly and happy to help. Have fun! You’re gonna love it.

Wow, thanks! That's super helpful. I was worried about accidentally picking something crazy spicy, so the less spicy tip is great. Pav bhaji and vada pav sound amazing – I'll definitely prioritize those. And yeah, the busy stalls thing makes total sense. I'm usually pretty adventurous with food but I don't want to be crying from the heat the whole time! Thanks again for the detailed advice. I'm excited now!

Prakash Inn Quirks?

fmd_good Prakash Inn

Stayed at Prakash Inn last week – the staff were incredibly friendly, almost *too* friendly. Felt a little…watched? Like, they knew when I was heading to the lobby before I even did. Seriously cr… more

Mumbai's hospitality can be...intense. I've had similar experiences in smaller hotels, not just Prakash Inn. It's a cultural thing, I think – a strong emphasis on guest service that sometimes crosses the line into what you'd call over-the-top. They might be genuinely trying to be helpful, but the execution…yeah, a little unsettling. It's not necessarily malicious, just...intensely focused. Maybe they have a really good system of internal communication? Or maybe they're just really good at observing. Either way, a bit spooky.
