Sion East Mysteries?

fmd_good Sion East

So I'm heading to Sion East next week, spent ages trying to find decent info online, it's like a black hole for tourists! Everyone keeps mentioning the street food scene which sounds amazing, but th… more

Sion East's food scene is a bit of a gamble, you're right. Forget the flashy places; they're usually overpriced and touristy. For authentic Maharashtrian, hunt down smaller, family-run joints. Look for places packed with locals – that's always a good sign. Don't be afraid to venture down those smaller side streets; that's where the real gems are. Honestly, the best vada pav I've ever had was from a tiny stall tucked away near a temple – no name, just amazing food. Your backup snacks are a smart move, though. Mumbai's street food is fantastic... but also inconsistent. Good luck with your search! Let me know if you find that killer vada pav spot.

Sion East Street Food?

So I'm heading to Sion East next week, really hyped to explore the street food scene. Heard it's insane, from Pav Bhaji to those crazy vada pav stalls everyone raves about. But I'm a bit of a lightwe… more

Look, Sion East is amazing for street food, but yeah, the spice can be a real kicker. My advice? Don't be afraid to ask for "kam" (less spicy) or even "bilkul kam" (very mild). Most vendors are totally cool with adjusting things. Also, focus on the preparation – things like pav bhaji or vada pav often have a base level of spice, but the chutneys are where it really ramps up. Go easy on those at first. And yeah, a mango lassi is your best friend. Seriously, it'll save you. Have fun! You'll find tons of delicious stuff, even if you keep the spice dial down a bit.

Great advice! Thanks so much. I’m a bit of a wimp when it comes to spice, so the "bilkul kam" tip is clutch. Mango lassi it is then! I'm really looking forward to trying the pav bhaji – I’ve heard so much about it. Hopefully, I can handle the heat even with the mild adjustments. Fingers crossed!
