Haha, yeah, I figured it wouldn't be fancy. "Classic" is a good way to put it! Cheapest tea leaves and a decades-old pot... that's pretty much the vibe I got too. I'll definitely check out a street stall next time, though. Thanks for the tip! Sounds like a much better chai experience awaits.
