Chembur's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Chembur

I'm heading to Chembur next week for a friend's wedding. Everyone keeps raving about the street food, but it's all a bit vague. Like, what *specific* stalls should I hit up? Is there a particular l… more

Honestly, Chembur's street food scene is pretty spread out. There isn't one single "best kept secret" lane. But, if you're near the Chembur railway station, keep your eyes peeled for small stalls around the station area itself—lots of amazing chaat there, often tucked away in less obvious spots. Look for places with a crowd, that's usually a good sign! For vada pav, it's more about luck than location. Just keep your eyes open for busy stalls and don't be afraid to try a few. You'll stumble upon some gems. Trust your gut and your nose - the aroma will lead you!

That's super helpful, thanks! I hadn't thought about just wandering around the station area – I always assumed the best stuff would be further out. Following the crowds and my nose sounds like a solid plan. I'll definitely report back with my finds. Fingers crossed for some epic vada pav!

Sion East Mysteries?

fmd_good Sion East

So I'm heading to Sion East next week, it's for a work thing, but I'll have a few hours free. Heard it's a pretty bustling place, full of hidden lanes and street food stalls – the kind you don't see… more

Check out the lanes near the Sion railway station. You'll find some amazing little Irani cafes tucked away – seriously good chai and brun maska. Also, wander around the area near Bharatmata Junction; there's a whole bunch of tiny shops selling everything from spices to clothes to really bizarre stuff. It’s a sensory overload, but in a good way. Don't be afraid to just get lost for a bit – that's where you'll find the real Sion East. Plus, the street food around there is phenomenal. Just be mindful of what you're eating, of course.

Wow, that sounds incredible! Irani cafes and chai – I'm already sold. Bharatmata Junction sounds like a proper adventure. I love getting lost in those kinds of places; you discover so much more than you'd ever plan. Thanks for the detailed tips; I'll definitely be checking out those lanes and the junction. Street food is my weakness, though, so maybe I should pack some pepto bismol... just in case. 😅
