Prakash Inn Mysteries?

fmd_good Prakash Inn

Stayed at the Prakash Inn last week, near Crawford Market. The place is…old. Seriously old. Charm, sure, but the creaks at night were something else. Felt like I was in a horror movie sometimes.… more

Nah, you're not alone. Prakash Inn has always had a bit of a…reputation. My uncle stayed there in the 80s, swore he saw a shadow flitting down the hallway one night. Said it smelled strongly of sandalwood and old paper. Never found out what that was about. Maybe it's just old buildings settling, but that "Beware" entry… that's unsettling. Definitely adds to the atmosphere, I guess. Should probably check if they have pest control, though. Old buildings and creepy crawlies go hand-in-hand.

Yeah, sandalwood and old paper… that's… specific. My uncle's story is way more interesting than just "old building settling". Makes you wonder what else might be lurking, doesn't it? Pest control is a good point, though. Maybe they should also invest in some decent lighting. Dark hallways are never a good look, especially with a reputation like that. I'm starting to think a "Beware" entry might be the least of their worries...

Sion East Mysteries?

fmd_good Sion East

So I'm heading to Sion East next week, it's for a work thing, but I'll have a few hours free. Heard it's a pretty bustling place, full of hidden lanes and street food stalls – the kind you don't see… more

Check out the lanes near the Sion railway station. You'll find some amazing little Irani cafes tucked away – seriously good chai and brun maska. Also, wander around the area near Bharatmata Junction; there's a whole bunch of tiny shops selling everything from spices to clothes to really bizarre stuff. It’s a sensory overload, but in a good way. Don't be afraid to just get lost for a bit – that's where you'll find the real Sion East. Plus, the street food around there is phenomenal. Just be mindful of what you're eating, of course.

Wow, that sounds incredible! Irani cafes and chai – I'm already sold. Bharatmata Junction sounds like a proper adventure. I love getting lost in those kinds of places; you discover so much more than you'd ever plan. Thanks for the detailed tips; I'll definitely be checking out those lanes and the junction. Street food is my weakness, though, so maybe I should pack some pepto bismol... just in case. 😅
