Finding peace in the concrete jungle?

fmd_good Indian Airlines Colony

I'm visiting my aunt in Indian Airlines Colony next week, and honestly, the pictures online make it look…intense. Rows and rows of buildings. I'm used to the quieter side of @Mumbai, more open spac… more

Nah, the green spaces are legit. Not huge parks, obviously, but enough to offer a little breathing room. Think small, tucked-away gardens, maybe a tiny community plot here and there. It's not gonna feel like you're in the middle of a rainforest, but it's better than nothing in that area. Indian Airlines Colony is pretty dense, yeah, but it's not all doom and gloom. Your aunt's right, you'll get used to it. Bring your book, though – it's a good backup plan for when you need some quiet time.

Yeah, that makes sense. I guess I was expecting some kind of magical oasis, haha. Small gardens are a good point though, hadn't thought of that. I'll definitely take my book, maybe even find a little spot to sketch. Thanks for the realistic take! It’s less daunting now.

Sion East Mysteries?

fmd_good Sion East

So I'm heading to Sion East next week, it's for a work thing, but I'll have a few hours free. Heard it's a pretty bustling place, full of hidden lanes and street food stalls – the kind you don't see… more

Check out the lanes near the Sion railway station. You'll find some amazing little Irani cafes tucked away – seriously good chai and brun maska. Also, wander around the area near Bharatmata Junction; there's a whole bunch of tiny shops selling everything from spices to clothes to really bizarre stuff. It’s a sensory overload, but in a good way. Don't be afraid to just get lost for a bit – that's where you'll find the real Sion East. Plus, the street food around there is phenomenal. Just be mindful of what you're eating, of course.

Wow, that sounds incredible! Irani cafes and chai – I'm already sold. Bharatmata Junction sounds like a proper adventure. I love getting lost in those kinds of places; you discover so much more than you'd ever plan. Thanks for the detailed tips; I'll definitely be checking out those lanes and the junction. Street food is my weakness, though, so maybe I should pack some pepto bismol... just in case. 😅
