Finding a decent chai wallah?

fmd_good Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar

So I'm heading to Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar next week, it's a work trip, kinda boring. I hear the chai is amazing though, everyone keeps raving about it. Problem is, I'm rubbish at finding the "best"… more

Dude, Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar is pretty sprawling. You'll find chai everywhere, but for a truly local experience, ditch the main roads. Wander down some of the smaller side streets – you'll stumble across little chai stalls set up right on the pavement, often just a guy with a massive kettle and some tiny plastic chairs. Those are usually the best. They're not fancy, but the chai's usually amazing and strong. Look for places where you see lots of locals hanging out – that's a good sign. Trust your gut, and don't be afraid to just try a few different ones until you find your favorite. Enjoy the chai!

Sion East Mysteries?

fmd_good Sion East

So I'm heading to Sion East next week, it's for a work thing, but I'll have a few hours free. Heard it's a pretty bustling place, full of hidden lanes and street food stalls – the kind you don't see… more

Check out the lanes near the Sion railway station. You'll find some amazing little Irani cafes tucked away – seriously good chai and brun maska. Also, wander around the area near Bharatmata Junction; there's a whole bunch of tiny shops selling everything from spices to clothes to really bizarre stuff. It’s a sensory overload, but in a good way. Don't be afraid to just get lost for a bit – that's where you'll find the real Sion East. Plus, the street food around there is phenomenal. Just be mindful of what you're eating, of course.

Wow, that sounds incredible! Irani cafes and chai – I'm already sold. Bharatmata Junction sounds like a proper adventure. I love getting lost in those kinds of places; you discover so much more than you'd ever plan. Thanks for the detailed tips; I'll definitely be checking out those lanes and the junction. Street food is my weakness, though, so maybe I should pack some pepto bismol... just in case. 😅
