Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar

I'm heading to Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar next month – a friend who lives there raves about the street food, but swears there's some *amazing* little chai stall tucked away that only locals know about.… more

Forget the legendary chai stall for a sec – Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar's street food scene is insane on its own. Seriously, just wander around and you'll find awesome stuff. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. That being said, your friend's probably teasing you. Those "secret" spots are often in plain sight – look for places with a queue. A long queue usually means good food, even if it's not a secret. Happy hunting!

Haha, true! I totally get what you mean about the queues. I've always figured a line of people snaking down the block is a pretty reliable indicator of tasty food. I'll ditch the "secret" angle and just embrace the street food adventure. Thanks for the heads-up!

Sion East Mysteries?

fmd_good Sion East

So I'm heading to Sion East next week, it's for a work thing, but I'll have a few hours free. Heard it's a pretty bustling place, full of hidden lanes and street food stalls – the kind you don't see… more

Check out the lanes near the Sion railway station. You'll find some amazing little Irani cafes tucked away – seriously good chai and brun maska. Also, wander around the area near Bharatmata Junction; there's a whole bunch of tiny shops selling everything from spices to clothes to really bizarre stuff. It’s a sensory overload, but in a good way. Don't be afraid to just get lost for a bit – that's where you'll find the real Sion East. Plus, the street food around there is phenomenal. Just be mindful of what you're eating, of course.

Wow, that sounds incredible! Irani cafes and chai – I'm already sold. Bharatmata Junction sounds like a proper adventure. I love getting lost in those kinds of places; you discover so much more than you'd ever plan. Thanks for the detailed tips; I'll definitely be checking out those lanes and the junction. Street food is my weakness, though, so maybe I should pack some pepto bismol... just in case. 😅
