Chembur's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Chembur

I'm heading to Chembur next week for a friend's wedding and, honestly, I know next to nothing about the place. Everyone keeps talking about the amazing street food, but nobody's been specific! All I… more

Hit up the lanes near Bharat Nagar. There's a tiny little place, almost hidden, tucked away behind a pharmacy – seriously, you’ll probably miss it. They do the most incredible Pav Bhaji. Forget the fancy places, this is the real deal. Trust me, the line is usually a giveaway, even if it's not exactly "hidden". Another spot, further down towards Govandi, is this tiny vada pav stall. Seriously tiny. It's run by this family – generations of them, I think. The secret? Their chutney. Forget everything you thought you knew about chutney. Seriously. It's life-changing.

Wow, thanks for the tips! Bharat Nagar near a pharmacy...got it. I'm definitely checking out that Pav Bhaji. Sounds amazing. And a life-changing chutney? I'm sold! That vada pav place near Govandi is going on my list too. Generations of family recipes…that’s always a good sign. I appreciate the specific directions, makes it way easier than just searching generically.

Prakash Inn Quirks?

fmd_good Prakash Inn

I stayed at the Prakash Inn last week – it's this little, kinda faded hotel near Crawford Market. Honestly, the room was basic, but clean. The real kicker? The guy at reception…he seemed to know EV… more

That's awesome about the peppercorns! Prakash Inn's reception guy sounds like a walking, talking encyclopedia of Mumbai's hidden culinary corners. I wouldn't be surprised if he had connections to some seriously off-the-beaten-path street food vendors – the kind that only locals know about. Maybe ask him about lesser-known chai wallahs? Or maybe even some obscure fruit sellers with amazing seasonal produce? You might get a totally different Mumbai experience that way. It's all about the connections, you know?
