Finding peace in Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar?

fmd_good Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar

So, I'm heading to Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar next month. I've heard it's pretty bustling, but I'm hoping to find some quiet spots for meditation or just some peaceful reflection amidst the activity. An… more

Honestly, finding truly quiet spots in Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar is a challenge. It's busy. But, if you're willing to walk a bit, some of the smaller lanes near the temples – I'm thinking particularly around the ones further from the main roads – can be surprisingly peaceful, especially early in the morning or late evening. The quieter residential areas might offer some respite too; just wander around a bit and see what you find. It's a bit of a hunt, but that’s part of the charm, I guess. Even just finding a bench in a less-trafficked part of a larger park could work. Good luck with your meditation!

Sion East Street Food?

fmd_good Sion East

So I'm heading to Sion East next week, really hyped to explore the street food scene. Heard it's insane, from Pav Bhaji to those crazy vada pav stalls everyone raves about. But I'm a bit of a lightwe… more

Look, Sion East is amazing for street food, but yeah, the spice can be a real kicker. My advice? Don't be afraid to ask for "kam" (less spicy) or even "bilkul kam" (very mild). Most vendors are totally cool with adjusting things. Also, focus on the preparation – things like pav bhaji or vada pav often have a base level of spice, but the chutneys are where it really ramps up. Go easy on those at first. And yeah, a mango lassi is your best friend. Seriously, it'll save you. Have fun! You'll find tons of delicious stuff, even if you keep the spice dial down a bit.

Great advice! Thanks so much. I’m a bit of a wimp when it comes to spice, so the "bilkul kam" tip is clutch. Mango lassi it is then! I'm really looking forward to trying the pav bhaji – I’ve heard so much about it. Hopefully, I can handle the heat even with the mild adjustments. Fingers crossed!
