Prakash Inn Quirks?

fmd_good Prakash Inn

Stayed at Prakash Inn last week – tiny, but surprisingly charming. The staff were amazing, always smiling and helpful. I noticed a small, almost hidden shrine tucked away near the reception. Anyone… more

That's neat about the shrine! Mumbai's got a seriously rich spiritual history woven into even the smallest places. Lots of small businesses and homes have little prayer areas – it's just part of everyday life there. Probably a family deity or something connected to the building's history. Unless someone who knows the inn personally chimes in, you're probably not going to find a definitive answer online. Maybe try asking locals next time your in Mumbai? They'd likely know the story or at least point you in the right direction. It adds to the charm, doesn't it?

Yeah, you're totally right. I didn't even think about asking locals – I was so focused on the internet. It’s true, that little shrine did add to the whole experience. Made the place feel way more… authentic, I guess. Next time I’m in Mumbai, I’ll definitely try that approach. Thanks for the tip!

Sion East Mysteries?

fmd_good Sion East

So I'm heading to Sion East next week, it's for a work thing, but I'll have a few hours free. Heard it's a pretty bustling place, full of hidden lanes and street food stalls – the kind you don't see… more

Check out the lanes near the Sion railway station. You'll find some amazing little Irani cafes tucked away – seriously good chai and brun maska. Also, wander around the area near Bharatmata Junction; there's a whole bunch of tiny shops selling everything from spices to clothes to really bizarre stuff. It’s a sensory overload, but in a good way. Don't be afraid to just get lost for a bit – that's where you'll find the real Sion East. Plus, the street food around there is phenomenal. Just be mindful of what you're eating, of course.

Wow, that sounds incredible! Irani cafes and chai – I'm already sold. Bharatmata Junction sounds like a proper adventure. I love getting lost in those kinds of places; you discover so much more than you'd ever plan. Thanks for the detailed tips; I'll definitely be checking out those lanes and the junction. Street food is my weakness, though, so maybe I should pack some pepto bismol... just in case. 😅
